ohoh... gonna be a tad tipsy in an hour... Poured out a nice deep reddish brown brew with a decent foam up but excellent retention and lacing leaves plenty of the light brown crown behind. Lots & lots & lots of chunks! Comes out quickly with a medium strength complex spice and yeast, dark malts, dark berries, weak raisin, orangeish. Great flavours here: more of the same compared to the nose with clove and soft pepper coming out more, oak?, fig, lots of thick rich malts, weak alcohol. This turned out to be one beer that I would prefer to not let warm excessively as it started to fall apart. Smooth on the mouth, finishes sweet and invites you back for another sip. Highly drinkable. My cellar should find a home for a couple of these.

750 ml. Amber-brown hazy body with a large, frothy tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, toffee, brown sugar and cookie. Also notes of clove, raisin, dark fruits. Hint of dust, cobwebs. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium to full body with a velvety texture and lively carbonation. Delicious beer, sweet, spicy, complex and interesting.

750mL bottle, KW tasting, thanks to matt7215. 2002 vintage I believe. Pours a dark reddish brown, nice looking. The aroma features chilli peppers, more spice, cinnamon, fruity esters and nice sweet malts. The flavour is very nice, same as above, well blended, but with some peat, toffee/caramalt, earthy hops. Malty complexity adds a lot of layers to this tasty beer. Very drinkable despite the high abv. Very well refined and everything works well together, nothing over-powers, quite a good beer. Thanks Matt!

Very blah beer. Aroma is boring, some fruit notes. Taste is sweet with not much else

On tap at Sunset Grill. Pours brown with a thick white head. Aroma of sweet malt and light fruits. Flavor is initially lots of sweet malt with slight spices. Kind of bland and too sweet also. Meh. 6/4/6/3/12 (3.1/5)

Dark brown body that seems to be purple in some light, a tall tan cap floats on top that lasted a few minites. Mild alcohol in the nose. Aroma seems fairly standard for the style but not as good as most. To much apple!!! But the cloves are nice. Strange the flavour is very full but light, I think its less malty then some others. Lots of nice spice in this mostly cloves. Figs, plums and a very mild alcohol presence round out the flavour. To sweet for my liking and to light on the pallet. After taste has a roasted coconut quality. My marks seem to low, but this brew just doesn’t turn my crank. uggg.... I’m now drunk

750ml bottle from Khans, Indianapolis. Pours beautifully, with a long lasting head. Aroma of fruit and berries. Flavour is fruit and sweet, almost like drinking a berry pie. Finish is alcoholic warmth and sugar. Very good.
