Big 750 cc bottle. Really tasty. Poured red brown and hazy, with a huge tan head that lasted forever. Lots of fruit aroma with a hint of hops. Very smooth. Alcohol very forward. Full bottle would bomb you. Very expensive in my town, about the same as a bottle of quality wine. Not cost effective, but fun to try once. This is really good. Mine was the 2005 limited edition.

A fabolous smelling beer that HAS to be above 5 degrees C, otherwise it has a very powerful taste of alcohol.

Red brown with a rich, khaki head cloying to the glass. Yeasty and sweet caramel aroma. Initially sweet, spicy yeastiness takes over, ending dry. Noticeable alcohol.Good carbonation, full-bodied. Very enjoyable, if not the most complex strong ale around.

Pours ruby brown with a huge tan head. Nice spicy nose. Flavors are immediate and full: strong toffee, a hint of chocolate. Quite smooth & meaty. Sweet. Moderate malt-alcohol presence (rummy). This is definitely a winner, I plan to grab a few and cellar them, because I may want this year-round.

This is an excellent holiday beer. Flavor is sweet with a clean carbonation and strong alcohol presence. Wish this was more readily available, it’s just too expensive.

Bottled. Amber with a beige head and nice lacing. Sourish and grassy aroma; soap(?). Spicy and yeasty flavour with fine sweetness.
