Very tasty. Hazy brown with white head. Stornly spiced body with the usual caramel and yeast.

2003 vintage. Poured deep red-brown with a creamy medium light tan head leaving nice lacing on the glass. Aroma had a touch of orange peel, yeast and dark sweet fruit. Flavor was classic Belgian Strong, with a yeasty, bready beginning leading to fruit development and perhaps a hint of cherry in the aftertaste, supplemented by a touch of orange peel and alcohol in the finish. Sweet and fairly complex, but not among the best examples of the style; there is nothing groundbreaking or innovative about this beer, but it is still tasty.

Aroma is highly spiced and tickles the nose. Dark red/brown in color with a typically thick Belgian head. Flavor is somewhat muted in the fore to be honest. far less sweet than most Belgian X-mas ales and that is nice. The fore is very mellow malts and slight spice then the finish is dominated by the bitter orange that coats the tongue. If you press your tongue hard against the roof of your mouth you’ll feel how thouroughly the tongue is coated. A decent brew with a different approache, but I have to say it wasn’t as good to me as its rating.

(bottle 750 ml - 2007 vintage) Dark ruby pour with a very thin tan head. Aroma is sweet and spicy with hints of cloves, toffee, plums, raisins, caramel malts, and alcohol. Flavor has lots of sweetness and spice. A lot of raisin, plum, and pear notes at the beginning with a spicy middle of cinnamon, cloves, and anise, and a lightly bitter and warming finish. Medium bodied with good carbonation.

2002 bottle -- Red-orange color with a thin beige head (I decanted it slowly) that lasted all the way down the glass. Complicated nose with musty sweet yeast and spice. I noticed the bitter orange peel mostly with strong spice compliments. Alcohol well hidden and very tasty belgian beer.

Sample @ Norøl juleølfestival’07. A cloudy brown beer with a dense, lasting yellowish head. Initial aroma of malt-sweetness and yeast, followed by some pleasant whiffs of wood, mouldy cellar, fruiity acidity and spices. Taste is refined suger-sweeetness and malt-sweetness with notes of berries, yeast, farmyard and wood. Medium to full body. Lingering bitter-sweet finish. A very nice, tasty and challenging Belgian.
