dark nut brown looking pour some nice visable carbonation w/ big off white fluffy head and nice lacing. light sweet malt aroma touch of spice and light alcohol. Good mouth feel nice coating and a smooth swallow. Good full carmel malt aroma some nice spicing and touches of plum and possibly a non sweet cherry in the finish. Alcohol is noticable in the swallow. Pretty darn good stuff though. Thanks to Kevin for sharing.

750 ml bottle. Christmas 2006. Pours a clear, dark amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted through mid-glass and left no lacing. Pleasant aroma of malt and just a hint of spice. More flavorful than the aroma suggests with thyme, citrus and yeast present with a strong malt backbone. The alcohol was very well hidden. Enjoyable.

BA BBF 06. Dark brown in color. Aroma is malty, spices, yeast, and some fruit. Taste is the same with a hoppy bitter finish.

750 ml bottle. Lot’s of fruity and spicy aromas off this brown pour with a decent tan head. Flavors were more dried fruit with a nice background of spice. Very nice winter offering.

Bottle, at home. A dark brown beer with a light brown head, mostly diminishing, fine lacings. Aroma heavy malty (brown sugar, figs, chocolate, orange) moderate hoppy. Flavor heavy sweet ending in moderate bitter, fine balance. Medium body, creamy, flat carbonated, you don’t feel the strength.

Deep brownish crimson, thick light tan head. Complex nose of spices, berry, dried apricot, dark candy sugar, citrus, herbs, and a hint of wet earth. Flavor is similar with spiced up front sips that gain a near perfect bittersweet hoppiness in the end. This one is all about the balance. Full bodied, zesty carbonation, warming, dry, bittersweet finish. Really nice....

On tap at Gollem (Pijp), A’dam. Solid, prickly mouthful. Warm and bitter. Alcohol a bit overpowering. 3 euros.

Cloudy tea colored, looks weizenbockish. Sour nose, bit peachy, smells a mite like Maudite. Very malty, very good. Wintry, some caramel. Alcohol and sweetness are present at end. Somewhat sugary. Quite smooth.
