| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 14, 2003 2003 Vintage - Dark ruby, mostly clear body. Big creamy light-tan head. Looks very nice. Lacing is superb. The aroma is coriander, citrus, and thyme. The thyme really comes out in the flavor. Malt backs the spice up, minimal hops. Sweetness is big but not overpowering in any way. The thyme keeps coming back, if you are not a fan of thyme you may not like this one. Sticky body with a decent amount of alcohol in the finish. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 4, 2004 From the 2002 bottling. This dark amber beer pours with a tall lacy tan long-lasting head, eliciting a pleasant malty aroma. There is a concomitant strong malt flavor with a chocolate finish. As the beer warms, various spice flavors become apparent. In my opinion, this is the best brew from Achouffe. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2003 1999 consumed in 2003. Brown and cloudy with a real fizzy carbonated head. The yeast from the bottom of the bottle fizzed alone at the sides of each glassful. Dark fruits in this one as opposed to the lighter fruit in the Soliel. Nearly identical finish. maybe more spicy and complex. Surely hides the 10+% very well. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 27, 2003 Chocolate, licorice, wood and dark fruits in the aroma. Sweet, creamy, malty palate. Smooth milk chocolate coats the palate, while a citric spice in the finish provides good balance. Fair alcohol warmth in the finish without ever appearing too strong.
