Virtually identical rating as the one I did 3 years ago. Aroma was docked 1 point. Dusty and yeasty aroma. Huge! tan head. Had to wait to drink it. Dark, murky body. Decent lace. Very sweet and very good. Not too strong. Distinctive flavoring. Not too heavy. I prefer this slightly to the Bell’s Old Coast b-wine I had just before it. That’s saying something. A very nice brew. 1/23/05: A very rich, sweet and malty nose. Lots of visible particalia. No visible carbonation. A still brew. Nice rich, dark amber color. Highly carbonated. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 9, 2006 Big 750 cc bottle. Really tasty. Poured red brown and hazy, with a huge tan head that lasted forever. Lots of fruit aroma with a hint of hops. Very smooth. Alcohol very forward. Full bottle would bomb you. Very expensive in my town, about the same as a bottle of quality wine. Not cost effective, but fun to try once. This is really good. Mine was the 2005 limited edition. Bart (1653), Brussels, Belgium
