| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 13, 2009 Bottle shared with pineypower and supplied by his buddy Dave, excellent choice Dave. Poured a deep mocha brown with some lighter brown outer edges and a small foamy off white head. Aroma was exquisite with lots of sweet notes, honey, raisin, fig, dates, dark tropical fruits, flowers, lots of general mead like qualities overall. Drinks with a medium body some active bubbly carbonation and a rather sweet finish. Flavor of honey sweetness, dough, floral petals and earth notes. I’m finding a hard time to really express this beers complexity but lets just say if you find it buy it!!! BDR (2162), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

Wonderful brown sugar and toffee, and actually there is some roast evident but it is extremely faint. Taste almost like an eisboch but with many more spicey notes. Sour apple dominates the nose, some prune on the swallow. Very nice indeed, and it leaves a beautiful thick lacing of tan all over the glass. judasbeer (251), Budapest, Hungary

A little bit deeper in the red saturation and the head is less stable. The aroma is quite peppery at first, and then comes fruity and herbal. Balanced, medium sweet roasted malts along with tons of herbals and spices like thyme and curacao. In the finish the mouthfeel gets more peppery and herbal. Medium to full bodied with lively carbonation and "NIce" warming alcoholic edge. It’s nIce for any occasion, especially for cold winter nights. matt7215 (972), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

Nice spice and fruit scents appear off the nose and merge with yeast and very quiet hop aromas. Nice full bodied taste with a vast array of flavors spanning my spectrum; fruit, cinnamon, coriander, citrus, yesty dusty notes. Had this brew after devouring a thanksgiving day turkey and was left with an enormous and sleepy grin. A very delicious beer. One to retaste and rerate and enjoy every time. especially during this season hobbersr (398), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada

Aroma is of plums, raisins, citrus (specificially oranges) bubble gum, fruit punch, spice, yeast, and a little chocolate. Tastes very bright and fresh for a dunkle beer. Tastes like plums, oranges and fruit punch with spices. The best part of this beer is the fantastic mouthfeel. Fantastic beer!
