2006 bottle. Beautiful pour with robust head. Nice spice and fruit scents appear off the nose and merge with yeast and very quiet hop aromas. Nice full bodied taste with a vast array of flavors spanning my spectrum; fruit, cinnamon, coriander, citrus, yesty dusty notes. Had this brew after devouring a thanksgiving day turkey and was left with an enormous and sleepy grin. A very delicious beer. One to retaste and rerate and enjoy every time. especially during this season

Draft at Isaac’s: Poured a dark cherry color with a small head. The aroma was sugary, fruits, plums, and raisins. The flavor was delicious, sweet, raisons, sligltly malty but finishing smooth. Overall, a great beer.

2004 Edition. Very smooth with the sugars and spices coming through. No hotness and a very smooth mouthfeel. Quite enjoyable and Ill be looking forward to the couple of bottles of the 2006 version Ive put away.

Pours a dark chocolate amber, not hazy with a thick dirt-colored head. Aroma is very clean, notes of nuts (almond and hazelnut), some vanilla and hints of caramel/candi sugar. Flavor is very nutty with earthy notes mixed with raisin and vanilla. Definite notes of candi sugar however it is more of an accent than taking over the flavor. subtle notes of orange zest. Body is creamy yet mixed with high carbonation. A very great, well-balanced winter ale.

Pours a hazy reddish brown with a nice tan coloured head. Aroma is of plums, raisins, citrus (specificially oranges) bubble gum, fruit punch, spice, yeast, and a little chocolate. Tastes very bright and fresh for a dunkle beer. Tastes like plums, oranges and fruit punch with spices. The best part of this beer is the fantastic mouthfeel. Fantastic beer!

Aroma: slight medicine smell, with fresh, sweet smells of the ocean. also a slightly fishy/fruit scent.
Appearance: Dark chocolate brown.
Flavor: Slightly carbonated flavors of chocolate malts. also, thick, alcoholic, roasted malt flavors with kind of a oak/woodsy aftertaste.
Palate: carbonated, but smooth. can feel the thick alcohol flowing across the tongue. a very warm, fulfilling sensation.
Overall: an interesting beer; i'm lacking words to describe this one in detail and feel it is hard to properly do it justice unless experienced on a first-hand basis. quite unique.

Wow, there is so much going on with this beer. Smell was of mint, spice, fruit, alcohol, and pine among other things. Taste was all over the place too. I was really struck by a wintergreen flavor, which seemed out of place at first, but it really added to the beer. This was very complex, but great on Christmas Eve.
