Dark ruby/brown with a perfect tan head, made of tiny carbonation bubbles, lasts almost entire bottle. Great lacing. Aroma is a strange combination of citrus, dark fruit, faint alcohol, (more as it warms), and spice. Except I am getting a minty/parsley like spice/herb. Flavor is on par with all the top belgians IMO. Big sweet malt base, residuel sugars, plum and cherry, even faint banana, pepper, alcohol. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Underated IMO. Catching quite the buzz after milking this thing for two hours! Sregnar35 (730), Rotterdam, New York, USA

Flavor is sweet with a clean carbonation and strong alcohol presence. Wish this was more readily available, it’s just too expensive. Quyntarious (32), Ohio, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 8, 2008 2006 Vintage - What an amazingly simple, yet tasty beer. Okay, maybe simple is the right word. But it’s not barrel aged, or a "super premium" beer. Just a well made, highly enjoyable Belgian beer.
The beer pours out a dark, cloudy brownish/purple color with a nice two-finger thick light tan head. A mesmerizing aroma butter, plums and mashed raisins. Vanilla and overripe bananas also show up. Where’s the 10% alcohol? Mouthfeel is crazy smooth. None of that overly harsh carbonation I find in some Beligain beers. Smooth as silk here. Flavors are a tongue-warp to try and get them all. Dark fruits like dates, rasins and plums abound. Caramel, chocolate dipped oranges, oak and various spices play thru. Highly recommended. Scauca (413), Lovere, Italy

Dark brown with a big not that lasting creamy coffee head. It starts quite slow, from obviously cocoa, coffee, and dried fruits, through banana and vanilla, to a sensual warming spicy vinous and a luxury cherry in alcohol. Full silky bodied, just a bit too alcohol for me. No trace of hoppiness but well balanced. Nice indeed. corby112 (763), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma consists of hints of maltiness, spices and thyme with citrus undertones. Very cmplex taste consisting of plum and dark berries, chocolate malt, sugar cane, balanced out by a nice spiciness and slightly dry hopped finish. Very tasty.
