Had high hopes for this one having been impressed by Slovenian and Croatian Tamnos, but it doesn’t quite hit the spot. Bloodsy aroma with dark malts, herbal hop and Vimto berries. Dark ruby with a thin beige slick. Creamy but a little empty; dark cherry palinka-type notes hinting straight at the ABV, brackish malt loaf, droplet of Kasteel. Some solid herbal Germanic hop content surprising in such a dark(ish) brew, but a Paracetemol/burnt wood bitterness I don’t like. Still, decent Mediterranean/Adriatic Dunkel (new category). Saw it off no problem.

It’s like an tutti-frutti-flavoured soft drink. Black colour, weak body, watery texture, almost no head, which is immediately diminishing, and a light malty flavour. Delusion. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 26, 2009 1L Bottle. Dark brown with ruby hue and small creamy head. Light roasted malt and some dry charcoal in the aroma.
Medium roasted maltiness with caramel and some grassy hop in the finish. Fizzy, watery texture and the roasted unmalted barley feel. Easy drinking, refreshing, average stuff.
