Bricks (15), USA Nov 8, 2009 Thought it smelled of straw or some type of grain. Powerful brew. Definitely hints of grape in the taste.. Nothing exceptional. Different than barely wines I’ve had before. Yves (989), Beerse, Belgium Nov 1, 2009 Amber colorued beer with small white hea and medium carbonation. Malty aroma. Full creamy palate. Pours a fairly clear amber to copper color with one finger off-white head that settles slowly. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, toffee, candy sugar, ripe dark fruit, fresh tree fruit, hints of apple and light brandy. Flavor is sweet and malty with similar notes of toffee, caramel, honey, light floral esters. Generally medium body with a sweet and malty finish. bluejacket74 (7), Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA does not count Oct 24, 2009 11.2 ounce bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a hazy amber/orange color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The aroma is mostly fruity, it smells like apricots, pears, figs, caramel, and bready malt. Taste is pretty much the same as the aroma, except with the addition of some peppery spice and oak. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a little bit coating and has moderate carbonation. Drinkability is good, it’s smooth and easy to drink. The alcohol in this brew is well hidden. I think this is a good overall brew. I enjoyed it, and would buy it again in the future. MrPickles (108), Wisconsin, USA Oct 21, 2009 Bottle. Translucent burnt orange pour with tiny white head. Poured a thick looking dark orange with a thin near white head. Aroma was full of sweet barley and a bit of raspberry. Flavor is quite sweet with a bit of an alcohol at the end and malty notes throughout.
