| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 11, 2008 Clear dark golden to amber color with a modest clean canvas colored head. Caramel, toasted malt, honey and a backdrop of floral hops. Nice texture, not real heavy and actually quite soft. Mild caramel start with light wood and vanilla in the middle. Some medicinal qualities in the finish throw thing off a touch. Linger is gentle, with light ripe fruit and a pinch of toasted malt. Somewhat simple, but dangerous from a drinkability factor. bhensonb (4268), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jun 9, 2008 Rich aromas of caramel and bread; a bit vinous. Copper amber color with a smear of white head. Seems full bodied, a bit slick, lightly spicy, and mildly carbonated. Flavor is malty, woody, spicy, hot hop, and a little herb - like some sort of seaweed - but not salt. There is no detectable heat, even down the throat. It is a bit sweet, but not sticky. There’s hop when the sweet goes away, but not a lot of hop. The taste is just great. Feels good in the mouth. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 9, 2008 Pours oily copper with barely a white head. Dense aroma of caramel, bread dough, candi sugar, and oak. Syrpupy mouthfeel with nearly no carbonation. More caramel and candied fruits. Some peppery hops creep in toward the back with an earthy/wood flavor. Change of pace from the barleywines I normally drink from the West Coast. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Pours a slightly transparent orange amber color, with a small off white head. Smells of some caramel malt, dark fruits, bready yeast, and grain. The flavor is pretty heavy on the dark fruits, alot of berries and prunes. Had a prfound yeast flavor as well, but not as bready as usual barley wines. Some oaky, woodsy flavors in the finish and the aftertaste are abound. Slight bitter fruits linger as well. Decent, but not spectacular. DenverLogan (421), MileHi, Colorado, USA

Big flavor of powder sugar, caramel malt, vanilla, rosemary, very slight molassas, candy sugar, cardamon, white pepper, persimmon or other strange fruit. Overall very tasty and smooth, very slight grappa bitterness, full bodied yet delicate UlrikNissen (13), Denmark

Taste is caramel, fruits, malt, some hops, spices.......very sweet, but with sweetness there is a nice balance. This is a tasty barleywine, actually it’s damn tasty. I just wish I could afford to drink it more often.
