Commercial Description:
Translation from website: "A beer with a strong, and obvious sweetness. Drink it now, or why not save it a couple of years? It will only improve with time."

This classic hearty ale started out a gold medal winner in the Swedish Homebrewing Championships in 1993, and went on to win gold in the World Beer Cup in 2000. A little something to see you through the longest darkest night.

Golden...big bubble head. Aroma of amber malts. Big flavor of powder sugar, caramel malt, vanilla, rosemary, very slight molassas, candy sugar, cardamon, white pepper, persimmon or other strange fruit. Overall very tasty and smooth, very slight grappa bitterness, full bodied yet delicate

Pours burgandy with a small white head. Aroma of malt, hops, fruit. Taste is caramel, fruits, malt, some hops, spices.......very sweet, but with sweetness there is a nice balance. This is a tasty barleywine, actually it’s damn tasty. I just wish I could afford to drink it more often.

Clear amber pour with a thin white head. Big malt aroma with a touch of vanilla and oak. Caramel malt flavor, generously rounded out by the hops. A certain brandylike quality. Sweet with a lightly bitter finish. Well balanced and very, very good.

330ml bottle, burgandy colored label. Pours clear, amber\orange color. no head. Cider aroma with some woody hops. Flavor is very vinous. It has a tasty caramel sweetness, followed by pine flavor, woody hops. Super nice bitterness. very balanced, light texture. Pleasant heat in the finish.

Bottled. A clear light amber beer with a huge and quite persistent white head. The aroma is fruity, hoppy, with notes of caramel and citric fruits. The alcohol is felt. The flavour is very sweet, maybe a bit sticky, but not cloying. Vinous, oily and quite thick. Notes of caramel, dried fruits and alcohol. Soft mouthfeel, almost full body, soft/average carbonation, long finish with hight sweetness and light bitterness. A more than decent beer.

I can’t really detect and aroma other than slight malt and barley. Appearance is a dark amber with a large head that laces the glass nicely. The flavor is wonderful- very sweet with hints of molasses, chocolate, and caramel. Smooth to the palate- overall a wonderful barley wine. One of my favorites so far.
