Commercial Description:
Translation from website: "A beer with a strong, and obvious sweetness. Drink it now, or why not save it a couple of years? It will only improve with time."

This classic hearty ale started out a gold medal winner in the Swedish Homebrewing Championships in 1993, and went on to win gold in the World Beer Cup in 2000. A little something to see you through the longest darkest night.

(330 ml bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/massachusetts/w target=blank>Julio’s Liquors) Pours surprisingly clear light reddish amber with a small off-white head that recedes mostly to edges. Aroma of candyish malt. Mouthfeel is light-medium full and a bit sticky. Could use a touch more heft. Little dabs of lacing here and there. Flavor is pretty much straight on candy-land malt sweetness. A very faint hint of smokiness. Lightly bitter with a small bitter bite in finish. Alcohol well-hidden. Tasty although not very complex.

Bottle 0.5 l. Alc. 9.5 %. Bought Superbrugsen Ulleroed. Dark yellow, white head. Plenty of malt - very nice, almort like tasting brown bread. Hobs allright. Can be recommended. Advised to store for some years.

[Vintage 2003 - sampled in (and tasting notes from) 2005. Amber with a decent head. Sweet aroma of caramel, alchohol and fruits. Pretty dry flavour with malty sweetness to begin with going into overripe fruits and a bitterdry ending with some alchol to notice.

11.2 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date. Weak pfftt when opened. Poured out a brilliant golden copper color, with a minimal white head. My pocket beer engine produced a 2 finger, frothy head on it. Aromas are sweet malts, clover honey, pears. Flavors are pear juice, sweet malts, slight sulfur, barely a hint of hops. Thin body and mouthfeel. Alcohol is very well hidden in aromas and flavors. Finished slightly sweet. Decent beer overall.

Bought a bottle in alcohol store System Bolaget in Stockholm maybe a little light for a BW. Opened the bottle a bit colder and sipped trying the taste changing as temperature rising. Can’t say a bad word for it. warms nicely the whole of body and mind.

Bottle and poured in to a snifter.Small tan head that mostly diminished, very little lacing, transparent, very little carbonation observed, and a golden hue. The nose was malty, caramel, sweet and lightly hoppy. The flavor was malty, sweet, caramel, lightly hoppy, lightly sugary, and warming alcohol in the end. Tingly mouthfeel and medium in body.Quaffable, balanced and worthy of a try IMO.

Bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a clear amber color with a 1/2 finger thick off white head. Very light spotty lacing. Aroma is toasted malt, light esters, and light hops. Flavor is lightly sweetened toasted malt with very light hops. As the beer warms, the esters really come out in the flavor. Light to medium body. Mouthfeel seems a little thin for a BW. Worth a try.

Bought at Greens in Atlanta. Bottle pours a nice amber color with basically no lasting head. Smel is sweet strange malt. with a mustiness about it. Taste is sweet and tart in a sweaty, body odor like way. Bland overall, but what is there isn’t particularly pleasant. Dirty malt flavor with very light bitterness and not very good at all.
