Commercial Description:
Translation from website: "A beer with a strong, and obvious sweetness. Drink it now, or why not save it a couple of years? It will only improve with time."

This classic hearty ale started out a gold medal winner in the Swedish Homebrewing Championships in 1993, and went on to win gold in the World Beer Cup in 2000. A little something to see you through the longest darkest night.

Bottle shared by akevitt. Pours a yellow-orange body with white head. Aroma of malts and dark fruits with maybe a hint of sugar. Flavor is surprisingly sweet - it’s mostly dark fruits and malts with maybe some raisin, apple, and apricot flavors. Easy to drink and medium-bodied. Finish is rather clean with a slight malt and sugary taste.

I was pretty amped to try this beer as I have been impressed with the other nils oscar brews. Pours an apple juice color with a minimal, white, quickly diminishing head. It definitely had a putrid fruity wine taste to it. Not my favorite Scandinavian brew by far. I liked Nogne barley wine style way way way better than this.

Unclear amber of color, no head. An aroma of malt, hops, caramel, raisins, liqurice and caramel notes. A flavor of malt, hops, caramel, brandy - a pretty easydrinking beer.

A nice beer! Amber color with moderate head. Malty aroma with a lot of sweetness and some hobs. The texture in the mouth is reach, creamy with a nice balanced taste between malt, hobs and sweetness.

Bottle. Amber gold with red tints and a small head. Aromas are caramel malts with tea and spices. Flavours are sweet toffee with sweet tea and peppery hops. Spicy with evident alcohol. Light pine on the finish. Good.

light amber almost golden in a way.. maybe its the lighting in here??? quickly gone head. nose is sweet and boozy, little breadyness some spice really like it. flavor is raisins, sweet caremel malt some spicy hops. not an overwhealming barley wine but a very easy drinking one.

Bottle. Rose/reddish beer with a sweet and malty aroma and a sweet, malty and lightly spiced flavour. Overall a nice smooth malty and sweet beer.

Clear brown appearance with no carbonation. Amazingly its strength does not really hit you. Some sweetness but not a lot of flavour for a barley wine. Still quite pleasant though.
