Commercial Description:
Translation from website: "A beer with a strong, and obvious sweetness. Drink it now, or why not save it a couple of years? It will only improve with time."

This classic hearty ale started out a gold medal winner in the Swedish Homebrewing Championships in 1993, and went on to win gold in the World Beer Cup in 2000. A little something to see you through the longest darkest night.

Poured an orange/copper color with little to no head. Aroma was malt, sugar, and a little toffee. Flavor was mor of the same. Not overwhelming on the alcohol, and retty balanced overall, but a little bland as far as barleywines go.

Poured a darker copper color with a short lived white head. No real lacing. The aroma was sugary and malty. Thin on hops. The flavor was more balanced with some floral hops blending in with the sugar and malts. Thin, easy drinking mouthfeel and the nearly ten percent ABV is totally hidden.

Pours copper into a snifter. Off-white head quickly recedes to hug rim. Sweet alcohol aromas. Smooth and sweet, but not cloying. Honey flavors prevail, alcohol well hidden. Well balanced and English - not too bitter, but not sugary.

Pours a decent copper with a thin fizzy off white head that dies quickly. The aroma is mild with some caramel, chocolate, and toffee notes. The taste is of subdued malts and it is balanced without much complexity. As far as barleywines go it is pretty easy drinking, but not what I’m looking for when I want a barleywine. Even for an English styled one it’s mellow.

Pours bright vibrant orange gold; medium head. Very aromatic, vague rubber impression, unspecified berries, malt. (takes a sip)... fucking delicious. Very mellow. Awesome grainy aftertaste. Tastes and drinks like it’s 4-5% abv instead of 9.5%. (takes another sip) actually it does have a very mild sweetness, again of unspecified berries, and the slightest green hop bite for a split second before it’s gone. Perfectly balanced in every way. Actually the hops do linger on in the finish. To make a long story short, it’s really good. And never has a barley wine looked so good either.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber red body with a thin white head quickly diminishing to a thin lacing of co2 strung bubbles. Sweet sugar cane aroma. A note of maple, oak, and buttered corn syrup. A strong etoh sweetness in the lightly viscous mouthfeel. with a moderate warming. As i exited the site with still 70% left i decided this beer was pretty bad and decided to lower it from my 3.3 rating.

Bottle. Clear. Copper colour. Sweet aroma of corn, balsamico and some kind of vegtable. The taste is unbalanced and has no real depth. Tastes corn, banan and cheap whiskey.
