| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 9, 2007 (Bottle 33 cl) Vintage 2002. Pours an almost clear, amber golden with a tiny, off-white head. Soft aroma of overripe fruit. Very full-bodied and a very smooth mouthfeel - partially due to the low carbonation. Has very distinct, sweetish caramel accents, vanilla and again this typical overripe fruitiness. The finish is full of overripe fruit. This really has aged quite gracefully. 080507 omhper (12218), Stockholm, Sweden
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 4, 2002 Red-brown. Thick. Big maltiness. Complex, with very nice hop profile.
This beer need some time to mature. When sampled fresh it is overly sweet, but after a year or so it has dried out and becomes a well balanced hop dominated barley wine.

2002 bottle, 5 years old, 9.5%. From a distance the aroma is yeasty, but closer up there is quite a lot of caramellised sugar and some vinousness. The colour is clear chestnut with a little grey, or perhaps just dark copper. Almost no head. The flavour also has noticeable caramel, and some dried fruit, it is quite dusty and finishes with a hint of yeast. The alcohol is distinct, but never unpleasant, it tickles the back of my mouth. Very flavourful, yet never aggressive. The beer has a good body and the carbonation is quite soft and pleasant. 8 4 9 5 18 oh6gdx (8838), Vasa, Finland

Kind of sweetish aftertaste with hints of bread. joergen (8597), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Sweet aroma. Malty aroma with a bit sweetness, and some bitterness. Hasn’t enough sweetness to be a good barleywine, this beer is just plain and boring.
