A flavor that smootly caresses every tastebud to the point where the term "Oral Orgasm" slowly makes you realize what beer can do for you...A finish that is remarkebly superb... To say in the humble words of Wayne from Waynes World : I AM NOT WORTHY !!!! minch25 (356), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Very aromatic, vague rubber impression, unspecified berries, malt. (takes a sip)... fucking delicious. Very mellow. Awesome grainy aftertaste. Tastes and drinks like it’s 4-5% abv instead of 9.5%. (takes another sip) actually it does have a very mild sweetness, again of unspecified berries, and the slightest green hop bite for a split second before it’s gone. Perfectly balanced in every way. Actually the hops do linger on in the finish. To make a long story short, it’s really good. And never has a barley wine looked so good either. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

The flavor on this is exactly what I wanted right now. Some molasses, some sweetness, but almost no alcoholic presence. An almost thin finish, but I found this to be great. Way underrated. lassewan (44), Borlänge, Sweden

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Bottle. Amber colour with a small head. Aroma of sweet fruits and hops. Delicious flavour of malts, hops & fruits. I’ve had different impressions of this beer but the last bottle (which I’m rating here) was awesome. omhper (12219), Stockholm, Sweden
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 4, 2002 Red-brown. Thick. Big maltiness. Complex, with very nice hop profile.
This beer need some time to mature. When sampled fresh it is overly sweet, but after a year or so it has dried out and becomes a well balanced hop dominated barley wine.

2002 bottle, 5 years old, 9.5%. From a distance the aroma is yeasty, but closer up there is quite a lot of caramellised sugar and some vinousness. The colour is clear chestnut with a little grey, or perhaps just dark copper. Almost no head. The flavour also has noticeable caramel, and some dried fruit, it is quite dusty and finishes with a hint of yeast. The alcohol is distinct, but never unpleasant, it tickles the back of my mouth. Very flavourful, yet never aggressive. The beer has a good body and the carbonation is quite soft and pleasant. 8 4 9 5 18 argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA
