Commercial Description:

Got this bottle a couple of months ago at Sams’ in Chicago. Should have kept it in the fridge. Poured with a soap bubble head that quickly subsided; no lace. Color is an opaque brown. Flavor is a wet cardboard dry coffee stout. Flat. Thin. Slight boozy finish. Something went wrong with this one. *sigh*

Dark, redish brown with a medium tan head. Coffee and roasted notes. Bitter, roasted and coffee. Medium body with a nice bittersweet finish.

Bottle 33cl.
Clear medium to dark black color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate, strong coffee. Flavor is light heavy chocolate sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to ’medium to full’, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft. Very big flavor but easy to drink ;O) [20090614]

March 2009: Nils Oscar Coffee Stout... Aroma: Semi-sweet chocolate with a hint of coffee. Appearance: Brown color, decent but unremarkable. Flavor: Dryish coffee at first; flavor is fairly rich; cocoa; good undertone of "highend" coffee. Palate: Average body. Overall: Another good coffee stout, but unremarkable overall.

Bottled. Poured medium-deep brown with a sticky cap of dark tan head. The aroma picked up a hefty and lovely dose of moderately-roasted coffee and dark chocolates, with complementary accents of vanilla and lactic sweets. The flavor was also centered around the coffee, with more of a burnt impression and some slightly sour beans (in a good way).. coffee bitterness and some molasses/tarry sweetness on the edges.. left more coffee along with a nice spicy note on the finish. Medium-bodied with a grainy feel from the coffee on the palate.. enough prickly carbonation to move it along.. really good brew, but I won’t buy it again at its price.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours very dark brown with a miniscule tan head. Smells like coffee. Full bodied with smooth, creamy carbonation. Flavor is not quite espresso. Flavors of dark burnt malt and coffee. Lots of coffee. Finish is smooth, slightly, lightly bitter with lots of coffee.

This opaque brown beer poured with almost no head and a strong coffee aroma. The flavor is, of course, coffee but it’s a little flat. It’s a nice beer but not too special.

Bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours dark brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is roasted malt, light chocolate accents and some coffee hints as well. The flavor is roasted malt, black coffee, some dark fruitiness with a finish that is moderately bitter. Medium bodied and drinkable, but unexciting.
