Commercial Description:

Bottle. Thanks to Omhper. Fragrant, with aromas of coffee and chocolate. Nicely balanced, though the slightly sour flavor of coffee beans is a bit too strong. High sourness and bitterness. Overall, very nice.

Bottle. Pours black with a small tan head that left good lacing. Aroma was mild coffee, roasted malts, and dark chocolate. Flavor was roasted coffee, rich dark chocolate, faint caramel, light smoke and a touch of light bitterness with a dry and bitter finish

Inch thick light tan head. Good carbonation coating side of glass. Dark brown body which light does not pass through. Aroma of coffee, light but clear. No real hop aroma. Body is fairly light for a stout, especially a coffee stout. Coffee is the most prevelent flavor. Suppose I taste the touch of sweetness CapatinCougar mentioned, but you had to search for it to find what I was tasting. Underwelmed.

Pours a transparent copper mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of mild roasty coffee and a touch of sweet caramel malt. Starts a little thin for the style and doesn’t have much sweetness to it, just some mild roasty coffee flavors before a drier finish. An ok coffee stout, but could use more fullness although it is quite drinkable.

courtesy of Per - pours a dark black fluid with no head retention; fairly roasted aroma of cold coffee and black chocolate, some notes of vanilla; robust malt body and with a moderate carbonation; slightly oily and quite sweet; late and low bitterness; fizzy and long aftertaste of roasted coffee beans - superb

Black, thin beige head. Aroma is coffee, as one would expect. Flavor is also coffee, but not as much as in the aroma, plus quite a bit of dark chcocolate. Some nice earthy notes, as well. dryish finish. Very tasty.

Pitch black coloured body with a very thin and fast-dying tan head. Aroma of metal, alcohol, whiskey, oak, vanilla and a bunch of coffee naturally. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive coffee and roasted malt flavours with metal, blood and some nuts tucked in. Aftertaste shows a coffee taste, some light malt and a bunch of caramalised sugars. Overall, a good stout, sweet and refreshing, but not showing enough coffee flavour or other complexity to be too intriguing. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from City Beer in San Francisco, California on 21-March-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 15-April-2009.
