Commercial Description:

This Stout pours a nearly opaque dark brown color with a medium thin and foamy tan head that fizzes away steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt and a bit of dark chocolate. Medium, dry body with flavors of roasted coffee and malt primarily. Touches of vanilla and chocolate are present as well. The finish is moderately bitter coffee and a little on the thin side. Decent overall, but probably not worth getting again considering the price tag.

Bottle: Dark brown with nice, creamy tan head. Nose is a sweet coffee and roasty blend. Espresso. What is most impressive is the flavor development of the coffee during the overall taste. Very smooth, roasty, creamy, dark chocolate, and a light finishing bitters. Completely coffee oriented, nice.

Bottle purchased at Rozi’s in Lakewood. Pour is a deep black with a thin cream head. The aroma is rich chocolate and coffee. Flavor is.... chocolate, coffee and cream. The mouthfeel is smooth and ends with a slight bitterness.

Bottle (thanks omhper!). Black-coloed with a big stable beige head. Coffee aroma with some dark bitter chocolate and some roasted barley notes. Bittersweet flavor with roasted coffee, light fruitiness and a rather bitter roasty finish. Medium-bodied.

This starts with a nice milk chocolate/coffee aroma, and pours an opaque black with a thick tan head. Very thin body, with a mild taste of coffee and chocolate, as well as some astringency. Not bad, but not something I’m going to pick up again.
