Dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, caramel and light char in the nose. Same flavors but in a better balance to check the sweetness. Some tingly mesquite and herb provide dryness and a tongue tingle. Heavy body is silky smooth, and lightly tingly. Excellent for one or a session. Ljunkan (399), Karlstad, Sweden
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 24, 2008 On tap at Bishops Arms, Karlstad. Deep brown, almost black color with a fingersized brown head. Aroma of espresso coffee, slightly of dark chocolate & roasted malt. Very nice actually... you can definitely think it’s coffee you’re smelling. Flavour is even better! Very nice coffee taste, with notes of bitter chocolate & liquorice. Ends bitter. Nice and filling in the palate, creamy, smooth and bitter. Overall, very nice... the best beer I’ve had from Nils Oscar! ajm (951), Los Angeles, California, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 16, 2009 Pours a dark sable-brown, almost opaque, with a thick and fairly persistent pale tan head. Aroma is rich and smoky with a strong overtone of fine roast coffee and hints of toffee and chocolate. Flavor fills the mouth with fine coffee that has a firm tone of unsweetened chocolate and hints of toffee and caramel with a good smoky overtone. Flavor is thick, smooth as glass, and just a little fizzy. Satisfying. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 19, 2009 Black body with a brown sugar colored head. Sweet chocolate chip pancakes and coffee up front with some rich notes of caramel. there The taste has some strong coffee roast and also a little bit of walnuts. There is a cocoa note, but it is light. The body is smooth and has low carbonation in a pleasant way. Good brew and one of the best coffee beers I have tried as it actually has some balance, it isn’t dominated by the coffee. Bov (5508), Bienne, Switzerland

Evident coffee aroma. Dryish and fairly clean. There’s dark powdery chocolate and a rich coffe flavour. The coffee is not powerful, rather distinct and balanced. Dry, lightly salty finish. A concentrated very elegant beer.
