| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 10, 2004 Orange golden body, nice foamy off-white head. Weak malty and hoppy aroma, somewhat metallic. Aroma of diacetyl (when pouring), buttery-caramely toffee, currant leaves, some aromatic hops, and toasty malt. Grainy-malty, caramely-toffeeish, earthy and roasty flavor with a dry, aromatic-bitter and very ashy finish (almost like licking an ashtray). Medium-bodied, ashy and foamy-carbonated palate. Interesting - but I’m not sure if I love ashtrays that much...
(Bottled, BBE 02/2004, rated 3/29/2004, was 4-3-5-3-10=2.5) Amber color, small head. Hoppy, malty aroma. Bitter, sourish and slightly skunky (old bottle). Medium-bodied, quite carbonated palate. Not much personality, but a decent ale. MartinKubert (862), Copenhagen, Denmark
