| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 20, 2009 In short: A dirty (even meaty!) beer with caramel and resinous hops. Just too dirty/meaty to be enjoyable.
How: Bottle 330ml. Consumed a few days after receiving it through private importation but it was already close to expiration date
The look: Clear copper body topped by a medium off-white head with low retention
In long: Nose is musty. Old fruits and not-so-fresh floral notes. Taste of dirty caramel, old citrus-fruits and resinous hops. I know my bottle was getting close to expiration date but I think there’s something not clean in the nature of the beer. Musky grainy malts, dirt and a little vegetable and even a little red meat touch. Extra soft carbonation. The more the beer warmed up the more the red-meat was coming through. It sure doesn’t have enough class for us fancy beer drinkers but I can imagine this being fitting for big sweaty dirty workers. Nils Oscar For Male.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 28, 2009 0,33l bottle. Copper brown color with no head. Aroma includes malts and grassy hops. Flavor is fruity and and quite malty toward the end. A nice brew that really has a far greater character than the low ABV would suggest. probstk (1044), Nepean, Ontario, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 17, 2009 Bottled, BBE 07/09. Clear deep copper, firm pale head with solid lacing. Dry and grainy, bready malty aroma, Shepherd neame style hopping. Minty and hayish hoppy flavor, good bready maltiness, little caramel but still on the dry side. Herbal finish. Almost medium bodied, slightly oily and smooth mouthfeel. Nicely round and full for the ABV, very good session ale. beerbuzzmontreal (2911), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 15, 2009 Pours a clear orangey copper color with a thin white head. Aroma of fruits, spicy hops and some mild barnyard. Interesting flavor of fruits, spicy hops and caramel. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Not great but interesting and intriguing. Boutip (2379), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 10, 2009 Bottle: Poured a copper color ale with an average size foamy head with some retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of perfect fruity ester somehow clashes with dry bitter English style hops. Taste is a unbalanced mix between some fruity ester with strong dry bitter English hops with a medium caramel malt. Average body with good carbonation. This is really a good example where less hops would have been profitable. FatPhil (3480), Espoo, Finland

Slightly grainy aroma, quite bready, slightl horseblanket too. Nice scottish ale feel. Quite simple traditional pale ale body - crisp hops and lightly roasted malts. Good for 4.2%. Maybe a bit too bready and simple.
