hughie (3018), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Nov 5, 2009 Gold with a small white head. Sweet malt aroma, grainy and sticky like a flapjack. Sweet malty taste with grass clippings, biscuit and an odd plastic quality. Strangely the result is not unattractive. Mid bitter finish, but the dominant impression remains grain and golden syrup. DruncanVeasey (2695), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Nov 2, 2009 Bottle. Slick gold with a fine slender collar. Crisp piney hop, dab of lemon, wholemeal, biscuit , hay and honey aroma. Clean pleasant balance of bready malt and herbal hop; pine, flour and biscuit finishing drily. Quite rich for a lager, approaching (Belgian) Dortmunder or marzen in its malt fullness. Leaves the teeth slightly squeaky. OK.
