Dark and rich foir sure, but a little too sweet for me (for an Impy that is). Not the grainy, hardcore hoppy blackness that I hoped for. Still nice, but not the ultimate. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2006 Bottle. Thanks to jsquire for sharing this one. Small tan head that mostly diminished, lackluster lacing, no visible carbonation, opaque, and a black hue. Roasty, coffee, some chocolate notes and licorice. Flavor was roasty, coffee, malty, and chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel. Nicely done and worthy of a try IMO. spporras (260), Finland

Black (reddish) colour and small, brownish, more or less fully diminishing head with fair lacing. Burned/roasted malty, coffee, licorice, slightly bitter and sweet flavour. Dry, creamy, softly carbonated and medium to full-bodied palate with a hint of alcohol. Good imperial stout but not as tasty as Slottskällans’ respective one! 05/11/06 (original rating was 8/4/8/4/15) Sigmund (2300), Hafrsfjord, Norway
