| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2006 Bottle. Vintage 2001. Pours dark brown with a brownish head. Aroma is sweetish with slight notes of toffee and notes of port starting to build up, no doubt thanks to the age. Flavour is sweetish with a strong smoked note, bordering barbecue. Nice, but could do with a bit more body. I have yet to try a ’fresh’ one, though. 28-01-06. gnoff (3573), Göteborg, Sweden

Chocolate scent and a very burnt dominating flavor. When it comes down to an Imperial Stout, this is as close to perfection as I’ve ever tasted it! I’ve tried it on bottle and from the tap, on various different occasions, the conclusion is that it’s one of the best beers around that I’ve tasted. I’ve brought it with me to friends in Germany and Mexico to spread the taste, and it’s been much appreciated. 9/5/9/4/19=4.6
Second rating (33 cl bottle at Café 3 Små Rum, Göteborg) On March 1, 2008 Pitch black color, brown head. Really nice chocolate and roasted scent. Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate taste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. 9/4/8/4/18=4.3 - Rerate (Bottled, thanks to ekstedt!) On November 14, 2008. Blind tasting. Deep ruby red to black color, brown head. Milk chocolate, cocoa, some sweet baking sirup, scent. Thin, milky, grainy taste. A bit roasted aftertaste. Almost thin mouthfeel, rather low bitterness. Some toffee scent as well. 7/4/7/3/13=3.4 - Medium line: 8/4/7/4/15=3.8 Ughsmash (4044), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA

Poured damn-near black (only some faint mahogany sparkle under the beer light)... capped with a light ring and pool of cappuccino head. Even with my cold, I picked up a full array of roasty dark malts... coffee and fresh licorice at the forefront, with dark chocolate and raisins not far behind. Roastiness remains in the mouth with flavors of coffee, licorice and lesser chocolate. Some bitterness at the edges from coffee, and some from grassy hoppage. Light-bodied for the style, but does the trick. Finish is of coffee and some bittersweet chocolate-dipped currants. Excellent brew! bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark

Good and creamy feel. Also malty and a bit of bitter chocolate. A really really good stout. jtw (943), farmington, Michigan, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 4, 2006 330 cL bottle thanks to my friend juha in finland. aroma of burnt oatmeal, coffee, raisins, smoke, chocolate - imagine anything dark that might possibly go into a beer and the aroma has it. smooth licorice and bitter unsweetened chocolate, with a warm malt throughout. medium finish, with an evaporative finish tasting like bitter coffee. if it were "fuller" this would be top-notch, but it’s excellent as it is. thanks juha! larsga (2969), Oslo, Norway
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2005 Brown, creamy head with larger bubbles. Black opaque body, possibly slightly brown at the edges. Faint aroma of chocolate and coffee. Sweet, firm taste with smoky notes, rather soft round the edges. Somewhat mild for an imperial stout, even a little watery. No real aftertaste, just dries up. Coffee notes linger. A good imperial stout, but not among the best. unibaren (145), 8000 Århus C, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2005 Nice liquorice and coffee aroma, but not overly powerful. Black but not pitch black, nice lacings but light-brown head with low staying-power. Fairly light body for an Imperial Stout. Taste is fine with coffee, chocolate and liquorice notes. Finishes with long roasted aftertaste combined with a nice bitterness. pfr (121), København, Denmark
