Commercial Description:
Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

Black beer with weak blond head. Aroma is strongly roasted, chalky and some coffee. Flavour is quite intensive, roasted, some liquirice and dry in the end. Nicely slippery to drink. Roasted, not-interested beer, there are better beers for this category.

Dark brown, close to black with a small brown head. Aroma is roasted espresso like malts, light minerals and light chocolate. Flavour is smooth chocolate and coffe with a balanced bitter ending that has notes of minerals and nuts. Rather smooth and light on the palate (for the style), well balanced and enjoyable.

A bit thin smell of sweet chocolate. Nice thickness in the fluid. Balanced taste of sweet chocolate, coffee and nuts.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, roast and dark chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweetish, roasty flavor with ash, cream, dark chocolate, tobacco. Almost full bodied, good complexity. Excellent brew.

(bottle - 330 ml) Dark black pour with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet and very roasty at the beginning with a large amount of molasses and sweetly roasted malts. Lots of chocolate and roasted malt at the beginning with a mild roasty middle with hints of coffee and cocoa. Light bitter and surprisingly clean finish.

Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of toasted, molasses, dark chocolate and strong coffee, moderate resin for the hops and earth for the yeast. Head is average size, creamy/frothy with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is black. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is medium to full, creamy/syrupy and has a lively carbonation and a dry finish. The moderate hop profile balances well with the heavy malts in this Imperial Stout.

Pours black with nice brown head. Aromel is of roasted malt and yeast. Flavor is more balanced with notes of roasted coffee. Palate is smooth with a slight hoppy bitterness on the end. Enjoyable, but not great. At 7% ABV, not really Imperial either.

33cl bottle. Dark ruby, nearly black, small mocca head. Strongly metallic aroma at start, Käck licorice, sweet molasses. Flavor has little acidic coffee beans, licorice drops, burned malts. Medium bodied, slightly bulky metallic palate. Luckily some of the off-putting metal fades when warmer. Utterly simple strong stout.
