jbrus (4835), Delft, Netherlands Oct 20, 2009 Bottle@Home. Very English IPA. Nice balance, well hopped, pretty bitter, malty. Highly drinkable. Yves (989), Beerse, Belgium Oct 19, 2009 First one @ La mondial de la bière 2009 in Strasbourg. Ok, we have here a goldblond coloured beer with a small white head and very few carbonation. The aroma is herby and spicy. A full sparkling palate. Finish is bitter roasted. Nice for a pilsener. Ok, still a long list to go... altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Oct 9, 2009 Bottle from Bierkoning. Nice golden body with plenty of head. Sweet, caramel nose. Hops and caramel in the finish. Quite prickly texture. Very good. drpimento (785), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Sep 26, 2009 Got this purple labeled bottle titled "India Pale Ale" at Sam’s in Chicago a few months ago. Not entirely sure it’s this same beer here. Anyway, poured with a nice ight tan head and a little lace. Color is a slightly hazy deep medium amber. Aroma is an earthy hop with some citrus. Flavor’s about the same. Seems like a cross betweem a British and an American IPA. Not bad, nothing special. Body is good as is carbonation. Bittersweet finish. Could be a session beer. Indra (2018), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Sep 12, 2009 330ml bottle, labeled India Pale Ale. Sweet, caramel malt aroma, toasty, lightly hoppy and fruity with notes of orange and honey. Hazy medium amber color with a fading head. Maltiness carries over surprisingly strongly to the flavor as well, bringing plenty of caramel sweetness, biscuit and toasted grain character, along with a light-moderate dosage of bitterness and spicy, citric hop flavor towards the finish to help dry it out a bit. Thin and a bit watery on the palate, body is medium. Definitely a modern British-style IPA, nothing to do with the American take on the style at all from what I can tell. Not bad, though. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Sep 5, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy fine to medium sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a slightly hazy softly carbonated golden brown colored body and thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy and caramel malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The balanced flavor contained notes of hops and caramel. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. Madsnp (610), Odense C, Denmark Jul 8, 2009 Bottle. Light amber coloured with a nice off white head. Aromas of caramel, malt, cereal and a floral hoppy finish. Malty flavour with notes of grain and nice bitter hops in the finish. zeke626 (301), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jul 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours a yellow-orange body with yellowish white head. Aroma of sweet malts, sugar, caramel, and light citrus hops. Flavor is the same with a light, bitter hop finish. Medium bodied, but rather watery. Far too malty for an IPA; I can barely taste the hops.
