Hoppy (a bit flowery) on the nose - tropical fruits and some caramel. Flavour is hoppy - tropical fruits. A bit watery- Very thin on the mid-palate! An nice finish though - with notes of roasted malts. I’d like to have more of everything! NosirIwont (1186), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange/amber with a nice off-white head. Sweet, chewy hop aroma. Dry, dusty malt notes appear as it warms. Sweet, fruity and bitter hop flavour. Has a firm body; feels a bit heavy actually. But the palate still feels a tad watery. Not too disturbing though. Malts. Finish has apple and lingering bitter licorice notes. As it warms, notes of fruit appear as well. Has a creamy fee lto it. 11-03-08. Bronze, bitter, and lingering...the flavor is what one would imagine chewing on a grapefruit; rind and all. As with all of their beers, this seems a bit one dimensional. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Pours copper with a good head that slowly reduces to a fine lace and silky canopy. Very English in nature with mild aromatics of peaceful citrus rind and aged malt. Medium nectar with ample residual effers that expand on the palate like a cottonball. This brew is balanced right off the bat. A superb malt body with fruity ruby red grapefruit rind, candy necklace, leather, and asprin all integrated beautifully. This brew doesn’t hit the abv mark I like to see in an IPA but is undeniably very tasty. Just on the mild side. A good session beer. The finish is bittered well leaving defined wet fruit and asprin to linger for what seems forever. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Pours hazy orange with a soft white head. Fruity and earthy hop nose. Crisp on the palate, nice floral flavors with a unique earthiness with a spicy finish. Pretty big maltiness up front, and a bit toasty. KimJohansen (7136), Copenhagen V, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2008 Clear amber with huge off white head. Fruity aroma with distinct hoppy notes. Rich flavor that holds oranges, caramel and hoppy notes. Finishes mild bitter. Good without being over powering. bhensonb (4365), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 19, 2008 Bottle as Nils Oscar India Pale Ale. Fruity aroma reminiscent of an English ESB. Light coppery color with a decent white head that tries to lace. Medium body with medium carbonation. Caramel malt with spicy, fruity hop. Finish is balanced, but less than dry. This is so ESB rather than IPA. That said, it is so good! onlyrocknroll (220), Cork, Ireland
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 19, 2008 Orange with small short lived head. Decent dry hoppy, slightly citric aroma. The flavour is also hoppy with a balancing caramel maltiness. Quite refreshing, a simple but effective Ipa.
