Strong alcohol and acidic dark malt scent. Belgian ale yeast smell when swirled. Nice smooth sweet taste with some chocolate and dark malts aftertaste. No obvious alcohol taste. Smooth mouthfeel, low bitterness. Warming alcohol gut feeling. The taste is like heaven, a great beer! Ungstrup (15309), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Clear reddish amber, small thin white head. Vinous and peppery aroma with notes of cherries, almonds, figs and licorice. Small notes of red currant and citrus peels. Semi dry flavour of dried fruit, port, x-mas spices, black cherries, pepper and licorice. Long peppery and malty finish with a small alko kick. TBone (6804), Pori, Finland

Red ruby color, small off-white head. Toasted malts, berries, hints of alcohol and prunes. Ageing has made palate very smooth and creamy, almost liquer-like. Alcohol is almost non-existent. I can trace flavors of chocolate, vanilla, prunes and fudge. Sweetish aftertaste. This beer has aged great, absolutely fabulous vintage of NO Julöl. MrWalker (927), Stockholm, Sweden
