Good complex and evolving aromas starting with roast barley and raspberries, becoming woody and vinous and finally figs and some low smokiness. Full and sweet in the mouth with chocolate powder and more light smokiness and a touch of alcohol. Lingering yeasty dubbel notes in the finish, along with more chocolate and a final alcoholic kick.

Quite simple aroma; the flavor is just a bit more interesting, with a hidden roasted malt touch, some caramel and a ending very light liquorice note. Quite disappointing for Nils Oscar. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 17, 2004 Quite sweet brew. Nearly like a danish 'hvidtøl'. Nice dark brown color with a light brown shine. It has a slightly alcoholic and a quite malty aroma. The flavor is likewise sweet and malty. It has a bit of caramel and brown sugar in the finish. Mild despite the 7% alc. JCW (1262), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
