The color is a dark amber and it has a fine head. The flavor is very sweet and malty - it misses the complexity that a Belgium ale of 7% ABV should have, therefore I don't think of this as a Belgian ale - but it is still a good beer. Made partly with rye malt and fermented with belgan yeast, this christmas beer pours nut brown and forms a creamy head. Intense banana aroma. Sweet and vinuous, firm body with complex malt profile. Rich on toffee. Some light bitterness. Still a bit raw, but already superb. oh6gdx (9047), Vasa, Finland

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 22, 2004 Amber color. Quite simple aroma; the flavor is just a bit more interesting, with a hidden roasted malt touch, some caramel and a ending very light liquorice note. Quite disappointing for Nils Oscar.
