[Draft at Stockholm Beer Festival 2003] The aroma is sweet and malty - pretty simple for a Belgian ale. The color is a dark amber and it has a fine head. The flavor is very sweet and malty - it misses the complexity that a Belgium ale of 7% ABV should have, therefore I don't think of this as a Belgian ale - but it is still a good beer.

(Bottle 50 cl) New recipe compared to the 2001 and 2002 vintages, but still a very nice beer. Fuggles have been substituted with Saaz and som rye-malt has been added. 291204

50 cL bottle. Pours slight hazy brown with a dense little light tan head. Wineous, light woody, mild chalky and solid overripe fruity (yet somewhat oldish). Flavour is fruity and wineous. Light chalky. Subdued sweet fruity note into the finish.

Sampled draught at Stockholm Beer Festival.
Made partly with rye malt and fermented with belgan yeast, this christmas beer pours nut brown and forms a creamy head. Intense banana aroma. Sweet and vinuous, firm body with complex malt profile. Rich on toffee. Some light bitterness. Still a bit raw, but already superb.

Bottled. Very dark ruby red colour, mediumsized beige head. Spicces along with malts in the aroma. Flavour is spices, malts, plum and some spices. Aftertaste is mainly plummy and spicy. A bit watery palate, otherwise very good.

"Belgian-style with rye", the brewery claims. Amber-brown colour pours bright. Aroma is of cherry, earthy dark malts, marzipan. Dryish but malty palate across which flows light toffee notes.

Amber color. Quite simple aroma; the flavor is just a bit more interesting, with a hidden roasted malt touch, some caramel and a ending very light liquorice note. Quite disappointing for Nils Oscar.
