Made partly with rye malt and fermented with belgan yeast, this christmas beer pours nut brown and forms a creamy head. Intense banana aroma. Sweet and vinuous, firm body with complex malt profile. Rich on toffee. Some light bitterness. Still a bit raw, but already superb. rickgordon (3304), Göteborg, Sweden

After numerous attempts to accept Belgian Ale as drinkable, and now I truly do, this is in need of a rerate. Ruby colour. Low condition head. The aroma is, to say the least, fruity. The taste seems very complex, evolving loads of flavours: figs, chocolate, licorice(and banana?), you name them. The mouthfeel is unbelievably soft(malty), maybe a bit oily or soapy, and finishes a little smokey. This might be the most expensive beer I've bought in Sweden. It's 6 USD/5.50 EUR.
Sampled draught at Stockholm Beer Festival.
Brownish in colour. Mild, sweetish wienermalt-like aroma and flavour. A slight licorice-like ending with some bitterness.

Sparkling mahogany color. Good display of lacework. Heavy dried fruity sweet sniff. Also notes of caramel, grain, liquorish, lovely port wine like as well. Very thick and complex aroma I thought. Very full bodied with an almost oily texture and soft carbonation. This beer has a lot in common with a Belgian Quadruple. The yeast/fruity/port wine notes and well hidden alcohol. A higher % alcohol and this would most properly have been a Quadruple. Heavy sweet flavor. Lingering dried fruity and warming finish. Quit amazing for 7 %. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

Dark amber brilliant clear, with foamy off-white lacing head. Medium silky body with light carbonation. Starts light sweet, toasted sugar, grass, marshmallow. Light malt finish, with just a little bitter. After is a dry nutty bitter. rauchbier (3002), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England

Good complex and evolving aromas starting with roast barley and raspberries, becoming woody and vinous and finally figs and some low smokiness. Full and sweet in the mouth with chocolate powder and more light smokiness and a touch of alcohol. Lingering yeasty dubbel notes in the finish, along with more chocolate and a final alcoholic kick.

Pours deep unclear amber with a small creamy white head and lacings. Nose is what I hoped for. Barley Wine matured style. Very vinous and lots of dark fruits, toffee and liquorice. Smooth, vaguely sticky and full palate. A bit warmth from alcohol. Only vague dusty/cellar/oxidized notes. Sweet taste with yeast, dark fruits , chocolate and liquorice. Only 7% but damm right still amazing after 6 years. Bov (5478), Bienne, Switzerland
