Deep copper with a lasting off-white head. Complex aroma of plums, figs, walnut and port, signs of a well aged, high quality strong ale. Sweet and smooth caramel and dried fruit flavour, mostly balanced by a pleasant alcohol warmth.

Bottle. Courtesy of thewolf. Pours a hazy deep amber colour with a nice staedy medium sized creamy beige head. Sweet caramel maltyaroma with dark fruits. Good mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with caramel and dark fruits, good maltiness, some spice and ands off with a well lasting sweetness with dark fruits and caramel. Great brew indeed.

Bottle, bought @ Kihoskh, Cph.
Pours a light clear orange-red with a small creamy beige head. Aroma is sweet caramel, lightly sweet spice. Great mouthfeel, silky soft. Fresh flavour, sweet toffee, caramel and a great dryness. Wonderfully composed and great balance.

50 cL bottle, thanks to thewolf. Pours slight hazy orange to amber with a dense off-white head. Overripe fruity and spiced aroma. Flavour is fruity and mild malty. Light body and light raisin fruity flavour. Caramel sweet goes into a medium dry finish.

[Sampled and tasting notes from 2006]. Dark orange with no head at all. Weak aroma of overripe fruits. Flat mouthfeel with no carbonation and flavours of raisins, dades, plumes with some contrast from the roasted malts. It ends nicely with a bit of bitterness.

(Bottle, 2 years old) Pours deep red. The aroma is malty and syrupy with tones of nuts, toffee, caramel and earth. The undertones are a bit roasted, grainy and spicy with a subtle fruitiness. The flavour is malty with nuts, caramel and toffee up front. Hints of sugar and fruits along with a floral sting. The flavour is soft, smooth and almost velvety. Medium sweet. Medium to full bodied. Nice!
