(Bottled) Hazy, darkish red-amber with a small, tanned head. Port-raisiny aroma with lots of dried, dark fruit and cardamom spiciness. Flavor of chocolate cake, dark fruit and some caramely-malty sweetness. Medium body with soft, lowish carbonation. At 2 years, this is probably close to its peak. A nice and christmasy brew with nice dark-dried fruitiness.

Brought this one back to Australia to enjoy mid-winter, and its loads better than when was released, with the maltiness becoming more rounded and soft. Pours clear dark brown/amber, with a creamy small tan head. Great aroma, heaps of toasted malts and toffee sweetness, lighter undertones of cinnamon, earth, plummy esters. Its just great really. Full body, sweet but not cloying, huge malt profile... brown sugar, toffee, caramel, chocolate, custard... this stuff is amazing. Soft hop bitterness is there but not providing much flavour. Finish give the impression that you just took a huge mouthful of a home-made plum pudding with brandy custard about 2 minutes prior. Perhaps some liquorice too. Amazing stuff.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a warm, clear, orangey brown with a small, beige head leaving a pretty lacework. Sweet aroma of overripe fruit and caramel with a lightly spicy edge. Quite full-bodied, sweetish malty with notes of caramel, overripe fruit and aroma hops. There’s a vague bitterness in the finish. Excellent. 271107

Tested august 2008. Thick brown foam that stays. Reddish colour. Aroma of madeira wine, caramell malt and a little acidity. THe taste is very smooth and reminds you of a barly wine but lighter body and more drinkabillity. Unfortunantly this was the second last botle.

A deep red beer with a fast diappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet iwth notes of berries, malt, and flowers, as well as hints of toffee. The flavor is lovely sweet and crisp, combined with acidic notes of cowberries, and subdued notes of spices. In the aftertaste the notes of berries lingers for a long time, together with a light note of alcohol.

Bottle. [thank you, Yespr]
Pours deep red, rather clear and with a pretty, small, creamy yellowish head. Aroma is brilliant, lots of caramel, alcohol, light berries. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, vinious, light chocolate, caramel, rye bread, dough and a light touch of tart berries. Super balance

Draught. Hazy dark murky reddish colour with small beige thick foamy head. Aroma is US versus European hops with lots of fruits and caramel. Flavour is very fruity, bubblegummish and both Euro and US hops, spicy hints. Pleasant one!
