Commercial Description:
Nils Oscar Julöl 2007 is a dark beer with great power and complexity. It is topfermented with yeast from Belgium. We have used six kinds of malt and the hops Pacific Gem from New Zealand. The smell is roasted and soft with hints of licorice and blackcurrants. The flavor is warm and full with a complex charachter. Nils Oscar Julöl 2007 is excellent for glazed ribs, game meat, mature cheese, nuts and bitter chocolate, but can also be enjoyed on its own majesty.

50 cl bottle. Dark brown color, small beige head. Roasted and sweet malt, coffee, hops and hints of yeast. Complex, exiting beer.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with small head. After a minute the beer looks flat as if it has been opened for many hours. Aroma of roasted malts, not so complex, some metallic notes as well. Taste dominated by roasted malts and some licorice, but not very complex and again flat and quickly gone. And where ar all the spices that by my opinion should be in a christmas beer. I don´t find any belgian strong ale in this beer but more of a stout, and I don´t think stouts has much to do with christmas beer, so I was disappointed.

Bottle. Almost clear amber colour with a small creamy head. Rich spicy aroma and taste with notes of malts and fruits. Not too bad.

Dark amber/brown with a red hew and absolutely no head or lacings. Aroma is very malty- smokey, liquirice, caramel/toffee, coffee, chocolate - very roasted notes. Medium bodied - very soft. Carbonation is a bit flat. Sweet nutty/malty taste. Hints of christmas spices. Very drinkable!

Brun øl med duft af sød lakrids. Smagen er som ikke færdigbrygget øl, med en del syre og ingen brus. Røget og maltet og brændt. Skal re-rates ved lejlighed. Absolut ikke min favorit-øl.

Bottled. Thx ekstedt. Dark brown colour. Weird aroma from burnt popcorn and bit nutty. Probably from brown malts. Straight forward, rich malty flavour with popcorn here as well. I guess brown malt is very prominent here as well, that went very well in Dugges 1/2 Idjit, but this is not a success.

Belgian style xmas beer with a complex malty aroma and flavor. Xmas spices lures in the background but doesnt get too heavy. Nice balance.

Bottled. Dark brown with a brief, beige head. Nutty cereal-aroma; burnt popcorn. Sweet and malty flavour; nutty, cereal, smoked, stable. Warm alcofeel.
