Draft at Stockholm Beer Festival 2008. A deep red beer with a tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt and fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of fruit, caramel, bread, and Belgian yeast?!?

(On tap) Pours a clear, warm reddish brown with a dense, beige head. Lightly roasted coffee aroma. Medium body with lightly sweet roasted malt, vanilla and again distinct coffee notes leaving a distinct bitterness. Very solid. 180908

50 cL bottle. Pours dark, dense brown with a vague redish glare and a slowly collapsing tan head. Roasted malt aroma, light breadish and vague fruity. Roasted malt flavoured with a mild chocolate smoothness and a vague metallic note. Fruity and bitter before the finish. Vague smoke note. Smooth malty flavour into the finish with a reemerging bitterness.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. Mahogany colour, small head. Caramelly and coffeeish. Medium sweet with rounded mouthfeel and solid body. Firm without any stickyness with notes of roasty coffee and chocolate. Salty finish with some tobacco. Warming and pleasant. Not the most stunning of Nils Oscar’s christmas beers, but a solid effort.

Black color; thin creamy head. It’s a monodimensional chocolate beer, with a mild aroma and a more defined taste; but it’s well brewed, the mouthfeel is smooth, creamy, and the chocolate is mild, never too roasted; well balanced. There may be a hint of vanilla aroma and leather flavor. Good.
