A red-brown beer with a nice off-white head. The aroma is slightly spicy combined with notes of caramel. The flavor is malty with sweet notes of caramel as well as being rather hoppy which lead to an OK bitter end.

(Bottle 33 cl) Amber or almond coloured with a creamy, lasting head. Very, very aromatic from the top quality hops which are characteristic of Nils Oscar. Notes of dry sherry. Very distinct bitterness - and very delicious indeed. 210202

50 cL bottle. Pours deep amber with an orange glare, slowly collapsing orange to tan head. Mild spiced, roasted malt and caramel aroma. Flavour is light fruity with a mild liqourice note and slowly building bitterness. Very minor smoke note it seems. Solid bitterness into the finish, mixed with notes of caramel and light roasted notes.

Nut brown, sweetish, nicely malty and bitter. A good Christmas lager.

Bottle 2007. Clear medium amber red color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, moderate hoppy, grass, pepper. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, and a nice dry / dusty finish. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (031107)

Bottle. Very nice hop aroma, and quite malty. Toffee colour, small head. Malty flavour. Also a little sweet in a way that could be characterized as christmassy. But not enough alcohol to really make me happy.

Bottled. At first lots of cinnamon in aroma. After a while in the glass it ruens more hoppy and caramellish. Flavour is sweet, spiced malts and also some hops in finish. Quite pleasant mix, and also wellbalanced between sweet and sour. Spices dominate the aftertaste, which otherwise is sweet malty and spicy. Well done, as most other Nils Oscars.

Golden colour with off white head. Sweet spicy aroma with fruity notes. Malty flavour with lots of sweetness and notes of spices, well balanced bitterness.
