| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2004 Bottle. The colour is dark red with a tint of copper; the fast dissolving foam is pale beige.
The smell is sweet, malty, a little burned and bitter; some sour notes, crisp bread and a just perceptible touch of tar.
The carbonation is soft and gentle (but not at all staled). The mouthfeel is fresh and balanced.
The taste is somewhat sweet and compound. It is very malty with a burned flavour and a touch of crisp rye bread. It is quite light in taste, but there is a nice balance and a robust body. The rather short aftertaste is also malty and balanced with a good body, a soft bitterness and a sourish touch.
I found this being a fine, sweeter Märzen. screwball (802), Motala, Sweden
