Commercial Description:
This beer has its orgin in the Bavarian beer type ’festbier’ or ’oktoberfestbier’. Like ’festbier’ and ’vienna style beer’, Nils Oscar Kalasöl is of a somewhat darker type. The Nils Oscar Kalasöl is produced with both münchenermalt, dark caramelmalt, chocolatmalt and some roasted barley. The choice of hops is a mix of four kinds where the most characteristic are brittish fuggles, american cascade and czech saaz.
Kalasöl is a rounded beer with a mildly roasted breadish character. It can be recommended together with heavy foods, like joints of roast meat, spicy stews, broiled meat and fowl.

Flaske. Dejlig lagerøl med masser af humlebid. Frisk og ikke maltdominerede og sødlig som det ellers ses. Rigtig positivt overrasket.

Amber with a nice lasting off-white head. Grain, caramel and cane sugar in the nose. Very deep malty, bready, toffee flavour quite sweet, with a decent hops balance.

50 cL bottle. Pours amber, slight hazy with an orange lacing head. Very grainy aroma, slight dusty and dry. Cornish and dry flavour. Has a slight fruit note followed by a dry rye flavour into the finish. Surprising good flavour given the boring aroma.

Slight hazy orange with a solid white head. Aroma is sweet of malts (caramel & bread), sugar & honey. Taste is of the same and some spices & a nice dosis of hops (citrus/flowers). Medium body & carbonation. Good lacings. Nice bitter end. A very good Vienna!!!
