Commercial Description:
This beer has its orgin in the Bavarian beer type ’festbier’ or ’oktoberfestbier’. Like ’festbier’ and ’vienna style beer’, Nils Oscar Kalasöl is of a somewhat darker type. The Nils Oscar Kalasöl is produced with both münchenermalt, dark caramelmalt, chocolatmalt and some roasted barley. The choice of hops is a mix of four kinds where the most characteristic are brittish fuggles, american cascade and czech saaz.
Kalasöl is a rounded beer with a mildly roasted breadish character. It can be recommended together with heavy foods, like joints of roast meat, spicy stews, broiled meat and fowl.

Average fizzy white head with some nice lacework. Lovely golden/copper colour and a slight clear flat body. Aroma was hay, caramel, burned notes and some grain and fruit as well. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Flavour was burned bitter notes with good fruity sweetness. Nice dry and bitter finish. Impressive Märzen!

[Tasted with the RISK-bros.] Clear copperred look with a huge mediumfat head. Slight burned corn aroma. Creamy. Nice flavor of classic märzennotes. Round mouthfeel, licorice and a bitter finish. Very good foodbeer!

I had to cross the strait between Copenhagen and Malmö to get buy this beer, but it was worth it. Off-white head on an amber body, it has a medium roasted taste. Perfect as "party beer", which is the meaning of the name.

Bottle... Clear amber lager with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Malty, toasted caramel nose and flavor. Balanced nicely. Rich, hearty malts, but not cloyingly sweet. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with fizzy carbonation. Roasty, rather bitter finish. Cheers to marsiblursi for providing the bottle!

Bottle. Clear pale amber. Thin off-white head. Good lacing. Not very strong, but pleasant and complex aromas of sweet fruits, cream-caramel, toffee and mild delicate hops. Fruity-sweet flavors with notes of malts and caramel. Perfectly hopped. Mild, lingering bitter finish. A very enjoyable and well balanced festbier.
