Dark red/brown, almost black. Fine head. Aroma is smoke, coal, ash and meat. Smoked, ashy but well balanced flavour. Long, smoke dry finish. Very drinkable.

Poured a murky red brown body. Very smokey nose, pancetta. Same continues into the taste... smoke, pancetta, some roast. Great smoke character.

Pours deep mahogany with a small, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma is sweet, quite a lot of smoke and medium roasted. Okay mouthfeel, perhaps a touch on the thin side. Flavour is soft, some chocolate, well roasted with lots of smoke. Just a bit too much smoke with too little mouthfeel.

Jul 12, 2008 Bottle (RBESG 2008): Clear, reddish-amber coloured, small, persistent beige head; smoked meat, roast malt and dried fruits in the nose; quite dry bitter flavour, quite light bodied for abeer of 6.0%; dry bitter and smoky-malty finish with a touch of vanilla. Good, easy-drinking smoked......

Jul 11, 2008 Bottle at RBESG08 ... deep brown black ... roast malt nose ... again roast malt , my notes dont mention any smokeyness but i was probvably 3 sheets to the wind by this point in the day.

Jun 15, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a beautiful warm reddish brown with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt with a piquant whiff of smoke. Medium-bodied with roasted malt, dried fruit and again smooth smoky accents. Very pleasant. 290308
