Poured a very dark brown color with a tan head. A nice aroma of smoke and coffee. Some chocolate withb a sweet malt base. A touch of ash makes its way out as well. Roasted malt and smoke flavor. Semi-sweet. Medium bodied with a bitter finish.

.5 liter bottle. Nice deep dark woody brown almost a dark black with some ruby highlights and a nice head. Aroma is initially a sharp dark chocolate and hot cocoa with a light meaty smokiness in there. Smoke comes through quite a bit more in the flavor- with the chocoalte malts taking a back seat, sharp slightly phenolic meaty smoke and light campfire, some char and a nice sweetness and a smooth finish.

Thanks to dickinsonbeer for sharing - hazy dark brown, with a compact head - dough, chocolate, and light smoke in the aroma - some light berry sweetness - full carbonation in the mouth - very dry, with a lot of tobacco, charred wood, smoke - some dark fruit on the back end - a lot of roasty character after the char subsides - quite nice.

Bottle shared by Dickinsonbeer. Pours very dark brown, not quite black. Very pleasant aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, and mild wood smoke. There is not as much chocolate or coffee in the flavor as the aroma suggests, and the malt has more of a charred characteristic than just roast and mild smoke. Dry and a bit chalky as this beer approaches the finish. An enjoyable porter.

Flaske. Diskret aroma af røg på denne brunsorte øl. Fint skumhoved, men bestemt mere en porter end en røgøl. Men røgen bakker godt op om sødmen, og mundfylden har et lille bid. Rigtig lækker øl.

Pours a very very dark clear near black red with huge billowing foamy grayish beige rocky frothy head that stand about 3 inches tall and remains there. Strong aroma of coarsely ground coffee, dark dark roast, touch of oat, faint smoke that was stronger as I first opened the bottle but then disappeared or simple overwhelmed by the roast. Sweet creamy oat first taste, a bit acidic, very dark roast is secondary, the smoke and coffee flavors meld into one, really quite creamy. Smokey creamy chocolate finish. The flavors aren’t particularly strong but very balanced; it leaves me kind of want a little more of everything though. Seems a bit English with the buttery diacetyl and lightly grassy hop accent over the malt. Creamy smooth body with soft carbonation that finishes tingly.

Bottle with the Club. Pours black with a diminishing head. Smells of smoked malts . Tasted smoked with aromas of diacetyl. Also aromas of coffee and toasted malts. Hints of metals. Medium body. Soft carbonation.
