Jan 2, 2009 Bottle. It pours a really dark brown body, topped by a small, tan head. Smoked nose with hints of vanilla. Burnt and slightly roasted too. The flavor is nice, but maybe a bit one-tracked, with smoke, burnt and roasted malts. Full-bodied and dry. Lasting finish with smoke, burnt and roasted malts. A nice porter, balancing on the edge of too much, and to be honest, I like them sweeter and hoppier. (081031)

Dec 30, 2008 Bottle. Black with a beige head. Aromas are smoky and nutty with roast malts. Some peaty notes. Flavours are coffee malts with herbal notes. Smoky with a burnt bitterness. Woody and peppery with warming alcohol. Good.

Dec 20, 2008 330ml Bottle: Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, and a hint of smoke. Poured very dark brown in color with a small beige head that lasted throughout. Clear. Not sparkling. Lightly bitter flavor. Tastes of bitter coffee, light chocolate, smoke, light charcoal, and malts. Medium body. Thick, lightly chalky texture. Average carbonation. Charcoal, roasted malt, and smoke finish is dry.

Dec 19, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small fizzy head that faded pretty quickly. The nose has a nice balance between the smoke and chocolaty roastiness. Lightly campfire like. More roast than smoke on the flavor, but it does come out a bit more on the finish. Some chocolate, coffee, and light leafy hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, a bit watery in texture with slightly too active carbonation. Overall, not bad, but not quite enough smoke to be a favorite. Decent Porter though.

Dec 18, 2008 (Draught at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2008-11-27) Almost black. Medium sized tan coloured head. Smoke and liquorice in nose. Full bodied palate with lot of carbonation. Smoke, smoked ham, roastedness, hint of coffee and bitterness in taste. Coffee, smoke and bitterness in aftertaste.
