pilsnerrogge (1609), Finspång, Sweden Jan 4, 2008 Bottled Clear golden with very little head. Aroma is honey, beeswax and alcohol. Lots of pine and zesty citrus in the flavour; like chewing on grapefruit peels. Very unbalanced, something went awfully wrong with this one.
JK54B (385), Finland Sep 14, 2008 Nice amber colour. Quite sweet taste. Some smoke in the nose. Some hints of lemon in the taste. Not ver special. Tasted at Pikkulintu. yngwie (3602), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 30, 2008 Bottle. This was a big disappointment. I was warned that the beer wasn’t good fresh, but supposedly better now. If that’s the truth, it shouldn’t have been sold at all. There’s a lot of grapefruity sourness in both aroma and flavor, it’s dusty, citric and not much else. A faint touch of spices struggle to be seen, and there’s a hint of hoppy bitterness in the finish. Oh, I almost forgot the medicine and burnt plastic like flavors. Had a quite small sample, but wasn’t even near finishing it. Well, at least it looked decent, with it’s hazy, golden body and a small white head. Surely gone bad, and shouldn’t be sold. (080811) Beer_2000 (1269), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 29, 2008 500 ml bottle. Golden body with a small white head. Aroma is sweet, spicy and medicine. Flavor is a bit of grapefruit dominated by plastic and rubber. This is not drinkable at all. Checking through the other ratings here, it seems like some are very pleased and some other agree with me. Different batches or something happening over time? I don’t think it’s possible at all to finish this bottle I tasted. jacob_wennbom (261), Uppsala, Sweden May 26, 2008 Suprisingly bad. I am not impressed with this one. Yellow and still, hardly any head. Smokey smell, doesn’t feel as it should be. Lots of unplesant acidity. Just plain bad. thebeertourist (1889), Oslo, Norway May 1, 2008 Bottle at Bishops Arms, Stockholm. Quite clear golden colour-only the good and stable offwhite head distinguishes it from a lager. Strange aroma. I am sure it is of smoked malts- it is not unpleasant, but unusual for a trippel! The tastebuds encounter a strangely sweet beer with smokey notes. It is a drinkable beer, but maybe more likely a räuchmärzen than a trippel.
