rickgordon (3060), Göteborg, Sweden Nov 4, 2007 Bottled. Thanks ekstedt.
Pale amber colour. Rich aroma from sewer. It dominates totally. Taste is like a bad Eastern European Lager - raw, with pilsner malt base and lots of plug-hole. No almond paste, no fruitiness, no freshness. Bit bitter, which in itself feels a bit malplace here. Really bad.
jacob_wennbom (254), Uppsala, Sweden May 26, 2008 Suprisingly bad. I am not impressed with this one. Yellow and still, hardly any head. Smokey smell, doesn’t feel as it should be. Lots of unplesant acidity. Just plain bad. thebeertourist (1764), Oslo, Norway May 1, 2008 Bottle at Bishops Arms, Stockholm. Quite clear golden colour-only the good and stable offwhite head distinguishes it from a lager. Strange aroma. I am sure it is of smoked malts- it is not unpleasant, but unusual for a trippel! The tastebuds encounter a strangely sweet beer with smokey notes. It is a drinkable beer, but maybe more likely a räuchmärzen than a trippel. Bov (4604), Bienne, Switzerland Mar 30, 2008 courtesy of Per - clear and bright golden-bronze colour with a little white foam; estery nose with notes of pears and loads of spices; full-bodied and with an heavy sweetness; sticky and oily; dry and sharp bitterness before a long spicy and fruity finish where a touch of solvant and a strong alcohol kick appear - heavy and not easy to drink Egon (301), Gothenburg, Sweden Feb 21, 2008 Bottle. Clear golden with white head. Citrus and a bit of honey? Tastes a bit strange, not what i expected. Does not remind me of a tripel. The alcohol is quite dominant, unbalanced. pilsnerrogge (1577), Finspång, Sweden Jan 4, 2008 Bottled Clear golden with very little head. Aroma is honey, beeswax and alcohol. Lots of pine and zesty citrus in the flavour; like chewing on grapefruit peels. Very unbalanced, something went awfully wrong with this one.
