Commercial Description:
This ale is brewed in the traditional Belgian style, using Czech Saaz hops, unmalted wheat and a special Belgian yeast. Unique flavor comes from the addition of coriander and two types of orange peel. The balance creates a clean, light body and a refreshing flavor.

Opaque yellow with white foam. Spicy aroma. Corriander is very evident in the flavor. Milky. Not bad!

Tap @ Brewery. Aromas of grass and grain. Hazy yellow body with white head. Flavor was grainy, yeasty bread notes and some sourness. Light bodied easy to drink but where were my oranges. Alright brew but this stlye is either I like it alot or it’s in the eye of the beholder.

Appropriately cloudy, pale gold color. From the tap it has no real head just a bit of wispy, white froth. Spicy smelling with orange zest and coriander dominating. Flavor has same spiciness and the coriander is nice and clean, without the overly sharp, earthy spice notes that are found in many examples of coriander’d beers. This has a significant tartness to it that when coupled with the very light body makes this an incredibly refreshing brew and the perfect quaffer on this 100ºF / 38ºC day. Quite nice.

Sampled on tap at Nimbus; August 2003
The nose of this beer smells of orange and coriander, though neither is overpowering, which is good because I hate when breweries overdo the coriander in a Wit. The beer tastes of coriander and some phenolic / burnt plastic after taste. This is certainly not at its best (I’ll have to re-rate when I get a chance). Other than this it is lightly sweet, with a light body and it would be refreshing if not for the phenolics.

Back on tap at Nimbus - Pours a hazy straw color with a small white head. Has a light wheat, grassy, ester aroma. Flavor is very smooth with light esters and spice. What I like about the flavor is there isn’t alot of yeast flavor in the aftertaste. Light body. Very nice.

Lightly spicy; more fruit driven. Easy drinking with a hint of sweetness as well.

had on tap at Jim’s and Bill’s place, this one was a pleasant suprise to me, it had a wonderful nose and the citrus infusion works really well to peel away the hops and taste the yeast and the juicy middle and end of this tight little ale, super well done, hope they have one when you visit!

Cloudy yellow beer. Very interesting taste. It’s a lot like a Hoegaarden/Blue moon mix. Lots of lemon, and orange peel. I could drink a ton of these. Very refreshing and probably my favorite by Nimbus.
