A very nice light chocolate-roasted aroma. Flavor has tad bit of chocolate to it. Hop bitterness compliments the malts nicely. Medium body. This beer is better from the bottle than the tap. Good beer. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA

Aroma very nutty, with burnt grain, chocolate and faint coffee. Flavor much the same. Lots of nutty grain with chocolate and coffee through the middle and finish. Very silky smooth mouthfeel. Very drinkable, well done brown. KUEric (635), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 17, 2006 12 oz Bottle: Pours a deep mahogany red color with a thick tightly packed fluffy head that is a nice brownish off-white color. Smell is nondescript. A nice balance of malts and hops, but not much else maybe a little chocolate, coffee, roasted smokiness. The flavor is good, not great. Some nuts, malts, hops, brown sugar, smoke, chocolate, etc, yet despite these array of flavors, still kind of thin and weak. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA

Poured a mysterious brown body and a tall khaki head. The aroma boasts some big nutty, chicory like suggestions. Flavor held the same, mixed nuts, coffee, toffee, some brown sugar, and subtle ideas of smoked oak chips. A delicate creamy textured palate and a crisp slightly spicy hoped finish…. A rather well done Brown Ale!

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 6, 2006 This is an excellent brown ale, unfiltered, hefty and yet light in body, kind of a mixed head (compact and frothy), aromas of smoke and chocolate. The flavor is some chocolate and some roast, in a really lovely, balanced way, with almost a hint of feathery sugars - weird interplays in this well-made beer. Nimbus is quality, I’ll say. And super quaffable. Bottle from FlacoAlto. jah noth (1023), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 27, 2006 Slightly roasted hazelnuts in the aroma. Reddish brown in color with a huge head. Interesting light toasted nutty flavor, slight roast of patent malts, with a dollop of tangy hops on the swallow. For a brown ale, this is pretty good. Thanks Sebastian. Tasted roasty like roasted almonds with a faint hickory. Roasted and a little bitter at the end. A nice nut brown.
