Ruddy mahogany red pour; pillowy, creamy soda foam. Mineral, berry, and earthy toasted malt aroma. Candied pecans, and caramel, but more rustic than rich. A big, warm cinnamon spiciness in bonfire smoke unfolds with a surprising depth. Flavor is gritty, bittersweet pecan at first. Sugary tones of malt shuffle about; crispy hints of apple and candied nuts on basic dark bread. A wink of black malt astringency lingers a bit, with some grapefruity hop, waning into a sharp, sweet middle of baked pears. Thin palate is fittingly not sharply carbonated, retaining smoothness; finishes short, with some earthy sweetness of cinnamon sugar smacking lightly. Casually enjoyable. Thanks Joshua!

Poured into Red Sox pint. Pours VERY dark, almost black. Smells of rich dark malt. Next to zero head / light carbonation. Very smooth, very tasty brew. Rich in flavor but easy to drink. Excellent beer.

freshly bottled march 2008. it’s not infected, yeah!... rich dark/medium dark brown body with a light khaki head which sticks around as a film. most notable aromas are coffee, milk chocolate, earth, nuttiness from roasted grain and woody hops. the flavor is the same with a bitter earthy finish and lingering coffee aftertaste. light to medium bodied with prickly carbonation.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of FlacoAlto. Warm, slightly hazy orangey brown with a creamy, beige head. Lightly burned malt aroma. Light and almost watery body. Roasted - almost burned - malt accents ad a nutty whiff. Some bitterness in the finish. 290308

Pours a clear brown with a 1/4" off white head that disappears really quickly. Very spotty lacing. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, and very light malts. Flavors of roasted malts, slight coffee, and chocolate. Very thin body beer.
